affinity
noun
- A felt closeness or resonance between people, ideas, or experiences
- A relationship based on connection or kinship
- A tendency of things to combine or bind
Welcome to The Affinity Project: a place to discover, connect and belong. In a world of noise, expectations, comparison and conditioning, we guide people towards (re)discovering their innate capacity to live with presence and purpose.
We offer 1-1 sessions (link) for anyone wishing to explore a deeper connection to their inner world, patterns and parts; a signature Rite of Passage (link) programme for 18-30s; and a range of corporate and education workshops (link).
What we believe:
- The pace and demands of modern life create separation, disconnecting us from ourselves, each other and the natural world.
- The relationship you have with yourself determines the quality of your relationships with others and how you engage with and respond to life.
- You are more than your thoughts; lasting transformation or change requires the integration of mind and body.
- True ‘wellness’ isn’t adding in more ‘stuff’ to do or consume. It includes stripping back, self-inquiry and connection.
- You aren’t ‘broken’ and don’t require ‘fixing’.
- Preventative over curative; most people have to hit crisis point before accessing support or education that, if integrated earlier, could be life changing.
“There comes a point where we need to stop just pulling people out of the river.
We need to go upstream and find out why they’re falling in.”
Desmond Tutu

A rite of passage
Marking the shift into adulthood with clarity, purpose, and intention.
The Affinity Project is for young adults who are ready to go on a journey of self discovery, connect with others and learn vital skills for the future. A rite of passage is a process of transition largely ignored in the modern world, leaving many people feeling lost and disconnected. We offer a unique opportunity to step into adulthood with intention and purpose so you feel confident and prepared for your next chapter. More than that, The Affinity Project is an opportunity to build a community with like-minded people.
“They should teach this stuff in schools!” We’ve been saying this for years too. The truth is, it was never designed for preparing people to make life-decisions, build relationships, handle conflict, manage stress, navigate finances, live independently or find direction. You have to work that out as you go.
Teachers are trying to move mountains – often with limited time, resources, and freedom. Parents are doing their best to prepare children to go out into the world. Employers report that the transition from ‘education culture’ to ‘workplace culture’ leaves gaps that they can’t bridge.
The Affinity Project connects the dots – and so much more.
What We've Seen
- A generation of diverse-minded, creative and values-driven young people trying to navigate an uncertain world.
- Education reduced to a series of hoops through which to jump.
- ‘Wellbeing’ delivered through systems that don’t tangibly improve working life.
- Institutions asked to solve problems they were never designed to hold.
- Parents wondering if they’ve done enough to support their child’s safety, direction or world-readiness.
